Senior lecturer of Interior Architecture Judith O’Callaghan has co-authored the publication ‘Designer Suburbs: Architects and affordable homes in Australia’ alongside Curator of Design and Built Environment, Charles Pickett.

Referencing the works of industry leaders such as Harry Seidler, Robin Boyd, Ken Woolley, Michael Dysart and Graeme Gunn, this publication explores the relationship between architects, builders and affordable housing and the lessons we can learn from twentieth-century designer suburbs.

The work also features photographs from Max Dupain, David Moore, Wolfgang Sievers and Eric Sierins.

The launch of ‘Designer Suburbs’ is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 31 October at the Powerhouse Museum. 'Prominent Sydney architect, Rachel Neeson of Neeson Murcutt will formally launch the book following an introduction from Built Environment Dean Professor Alec Tzannes.
