The Architecture Program Community recently hosted a successful five yearly National Visiting Panel to review the Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Master of Architecture for the purpose of accreditation under the new Australian and New Zealand accreditation procedure.
Chaired by Dr Christine Landorf from the University of Queensland, the nine member panel included academics, practising architects and a student representative and was drawn from all states of Australia. The panel spent three days reviewing the courses and student projects of the two degrees, visiting teaching settings, inspecting faculty facilities, meeting with students, staff and the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Richard Henry.
The visit provided a rare opportunity to exhibit Architecture student projects from all courses and years of the two degree programs which generated much faculty interest and positive feedback. Upon successful completion of the accredited Master of Architecture degree graduates are eligible to prepare for registration as an Architect.
