The School is pleased to announce our 2013 Goldstar and Silverstar Award recipients.
Dr Adelle Coster received a UNSW Goldstar Award for her project, "Insulin action in metabolism - insights from mathematics".
Dr Thomas Britz was awarded a Faculty of Science Silverstar grant for his project, "New directions in combinatorial coding theory".
A/Prof John Murray was also awarded a Silverstar grant, for his research, "New mathematical approaches determining features associated with response in viral sequences".
UNSW Goldstar Awards are awarded annually to UNSW researchers who narrowly miss out on project grants in the major ARC and NHMRC funding rounds. The awards allow researchers to conduct some initial research on the proposed research program, and allow the investigator(s) to further refine and improve the competitiveness of the application. Silverstar grants are awarded to the next-ranked major grant round applications who did not receive UNSW Goldstar grants.
Congratulations to Adelle, Thomas and John.
