The School of Psychology at UNSW has once again received the highest ratings of 5 in the assessment of its research in Psychology conducted through the Excellence in Research for Australia 2012 (ERA2012) exercise, overseen by the Australian Research Council. The School of Psychology at UNSW is one of only two schools in Australia to achieve the highest rating of 5, characterised by evidence of outstanding performance well above world standard, in all units assessed for the School in the Field of Research of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences.
This builds on a similar outstanding assessment in the ERA exercise conducted in 2010, in which the School also achieved the highest ratings in all of its assessed research activity. The School of Psychology at UNSW is the only school in Australia to have achieved maximum ratings in all of its ERA-assessed research in Psychology and Cognitive Sciences in both ERA2010 and ERA2012. ERA assesses research quality within Australia's higher education institutions using a combination of indicators and expert review by committees comprising experienced, internationally-recognised experts.
