UNSW Professor Deo Prasad receives prestigious Scientia title

UNSW Built Environment (BE) Professor Deo Prasad has been awarded the title of UNSW Scientia Professor. He has become the first person from BE to be honored with the title Scientia Professor, making this a significant accomplishment not only for himself but for the Faculty.

The UNSW Scientia Professor title is a special category of Professor that recognises outstanding research performance. The award is based on recognition of past research eminence and ongoing research and/or outstanding research stature. The title is only awarded to a small percentage of professors to preserve the titles reputation and distinction for true international eminence in research.

Professor Prasad said “I am delighted at this news - I guess a lot of our research in BE has measurable impact and working with industry and government partners ensures this.  I see many opportunities for multi-disciplinary approach research in the Built Environment.”
