Less than a year after exceeding one million views, Dr Chris Tisdell’s popular YouTube channel has now just eclipsed two million hits.

His channel, “Understand Mathematics”, hosts a large collection of educational videos which have received an enthusiastic reception from his 8,700+ subscribers. In 2010, Dr Tisdell became the first Australian to be made an official “YouTube Partner in Education (Australia)”.

Dr Tisdell’s phenomenal success in the online domain extends to the popularity of his e-book, “Engineering Mathematics YouTube Workbook”, which recently took top spot on Bookboon’s most downloaded items. Bookboon is the world’s largest e-book publisher.

This all comes hot on the heels of Dr Tisdell’s Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence, announced late last year. He will soon be dining with UNSW’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fred Hilmer, at the official awards ceremony.

Not surprisingly, Dr Tisdell’s online activities garnered a steady stream of mainstream media attention over the last year.

We congratulate Dr Chris Tisdell on his latest achievement!
