Chief Operating Officer of the ACCM, David Shteinman, recently gave a presentation at the AMSI workshop on Mathematics of Transportation Networks. Mr Shteinman presented his talk, "Three case studies of traffic flow modelling with real traffic data" on the last day of the three-day meeting.
The workshop, hosted by Monash University, drew researchers from multiple disciplines; including mathematics, engineering and computer science, along with stakeholders from government and industry, to discuss the application of mathematics to the design and operation of transportation networks. Topics canvassed included traffic flow theory and simulation, optimisation and control, data mining, intelligent transport systems, logistics, and infrastructure planning.
