The School is delighted to announce that Josef Dick, Catherine Greenhill and Jake Olivier have all been promoted to Associate Professor, effective from January 2014.

Josef Dick
Josef will be travelling to Austria next month to attend the Workshop on Quasi-Monte Carlo Methods to receive his 2013 Prize for Achievement in Information-Based Complexity, for which he was co-winner earlier this year. In late 2011 Josef was announced as recipient of the prestigious 2012 Christopher Heyde medal for his work in numerical integration.Catherine Greenhill

Catherine was awarded the 2013 UNSW Faculty of Science June Griffith Fellowship for Academic Women in Leadership late last year. She is the first female mathematician to be promoted to Associate Professor at UNSW. 

Jake's research into helmet safety has garnered significant interest over the past year. His Jake Olivierresearch has appeared in publications such as SMH, The Conversation, ABC Environment, National Times, and prominent injury prevention publications.
