Host international students for a social gathering

In 2014 students will come from around the world to study at UNSW Australia and it would be great to extend a warm and friendly UNSW welcome.

What is the UNSW Alumni Host Program?

As a UNSW Alumnus, you can connect with first year International students to make them feel welcome and nurture a lasting involvement with UNSW and make new friendships.

Through the UNSW Host Program, Alumni living within a 60 km radius of the Kensington campus are invited to assist us enhance the student experience and engage with our International students as they settle into their new student life at UNSW.

Make an impact and host international students through the UNSW alumni host program

How does the Host Program Work?

UNSW Alumni register their interest in hosting a minimum of 2 international students for a social gathering. The environment needs to be relaxed and friendly to allow students to draw inspiration from the professional and personal achievements of their hosts and network with other students. The setting may be the family home, restaurant, picnic, BBQ – your choice.

Alumni volunteer to participate in the Host Program at their own cost. International students will have an opportunity to register their interest in participating in the Alumni Host Program when they receive their Welcome Letter from UNSW in December 2013.

How do I get involved?

Expressions of interest are now open and close 17 February 2014. You can read more about the program here and complete the application form to email through to us.

Alumni hosts will be notified by 17 March if they have been successfully matched with a student, receiving an invitation to attend the meet and greet reception on 24 March.
