Gary Carsley’s exhibition Sciencefictive is currently touring Europe, America and Asia.
The international touring project from the Institute of Modern Art Brisbane engages not with the affect of Science Fiction, but it’s effect.
It collapses the common conceptual and formal attributes of the Moon Gate from Classical Chinese Gardening and the Star Gate from the popular science fiction franchise into a fantastic spatial experience.
Sciencefictive is realised in each gallery as a mappa mundi or map of the world where the visitor is at its centre.
The exhibition is currently on display at Kunstverein Ulm in Germany until 16 November, 2014.
