Entrepreneur, philanthropist and longtime supporter of UNSW Business School, Mark Bouris, has been awarded an AM in the Australia Day Honours.

The founder of Wizard Home Loans and Yellow Brick Road was awarded the AM for his service to the finance industry, (particularly the home loan mortgage sector), to education and to charitable organisations.

Mr Bouris, a member of the Business School's advisory council, has been a mentor for Business School students and central to the close connection forged between the School and the Australian business community. He recently spoke to a group of young UNSW alumni urging them to follow his key business drivers of bold ambition, calculated risk-taking and using the power of personal networks in their own careers.

A leading alumnus, he completed his Bachelor of Commerce at UNSW in 1977, his Master of Commerce in 1979 and has been closely connected to the school since 2004. In 2012, he was awarded an honorary doctorate in business.

The Business School congratulates Mr Bouris on his award and thanks him for his longstanding commitment to the business school and devoting his valuable time to assist the careers of each new cohort of business school graduates.
