Director of Computational Design (CoDe) and the Media Architecture Institute (MAI), Dr Hank Haeusler has recently returned from the 2015 Beijing International Media Architecture Summit held in March.

The annual summit was attended by national and international pioneers and explorers of media architecture, who communicated the latest achievements, trends and concepts in the field.

The discussion was based around the concept of ‘Smart Life’, exploring the collaborative and innovative model of combining art and science, and to promote the establishment of interdisciplinary academic exchange. It is also the first International Grand Summit in the field of Media Architecture to be held in Mainland China.

The summit was jointly organized by the China Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), Media Architecture Institute (MAI) and the China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA).

A Media Architecture Exhibition was held at the same time as the Summit. The exhibition was a showcase of a comprehensive collection of international media architectural projects as well as works from the Studio of Media Architecture in CAFA.
