A group of senior UNSW Business School Alumni Leaders will mentor current undergraduate students as they prepare to go on overseas exchange. The Bachelor of Commerce (international) is a specialised business program for high achieving undergraduate students, and includes an international study exchange. Over the next three months, 17 students in the program will work with a mentor, a senior Alumni Leader, to explore career opportunities, goals and pathways to pursue after graduation.

The opportunity to learn one-on-one from a leading Australian business executive is a unique opportunity that will resonate throughout students’ careers.

“We pride ourselves on the international focus of the business school and our aim is to prepare students in this prestigious program for a global career in business,” said Professor Chris Styles, Dean, UNSW Business School.

“Mentoring is something we’re really focused on. Classroom learning is just one part of preparing students for the workplace. To give students a truly valuable ‘real world’ business experience, we leverage the support and commitment of our alumni community,” said Chris.

Mentors in the 2015 program include David Tudehope, Chief Executive and co-founder, Macquarie Telecom; Michael Crouch AO, Chairman Midgeon Holdings Pty Ltd; and John Abernethy, Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer, Clime Asset Management.

The program is part of a suite of mentoring initiatives at the UNSW Business School including the Career Mentoring Program and the new pilot program, Career Accelerator that connects students with graduate advisors online.
