Yesterday, the Australia Bureau of Statistics released figures showing a 50-year low in alcohol consumption. Dr Michael Livingston from NDARC spoke to the ABC about alcohol in Australia.

The figures support Livingston's own research which has found that cultural diversity in Australia is leading to less drinking, but also that despite anoverall decrease in alcohol consuptiom there is an increase among heavy drinkers, which leads to more alcohol-related harm.
