Mark Bouris, Executive Chairman, Yellow Brick Road (BCom '77, MCom '79, HonD Bus '12) was special guest speaker at this prestigious annual event recognising the School's top performing students. UNSW Business School Dean, Professor Chris Styles and Professor Julie Cogin, Deputy Dean and Director, AGSM presented 300 students with scholarships, awards and prizes.

Prizes and scholarships are made possible by generous corporate and individual donors, many of whom are UNSW Business School graduates. The evening's Master of Ceremonies was Bachelor of Commerce student, Makenzie Russell, a past recipient of the Ena and Jack Russell scholarship.

Mark Bouris said he is a proud supporter of tertiary education which he describes as "the great leveller" in Australian society, giving individuals the opportunity to change their lives.

"This university gave me a platform through which I've become what is traditionally known as 'successful'," he said.

"However you define it, my success was firmly rooted in what I learnt about myself, and the knowledge I gained at this institution."

Mark described disruptive business models and entrepreneurship as "the new normal" and encouraged students to pursue excellence through innovation and creativity.
