Management journal makes an impact

The Australian Journal of Management received a 2014 Impact Factor of 1.000 from Thomson ReutersTM. This places the Journal at the high quality end of academic business journals in the region.

Impact Factors are a Thomson Reuters measure of the citation impact of academic journals.  They are used by many academic researchers as a proxy for the quality and importance of a journal.

This is a significant achievement for the journal, being a 25% increase* on the 2013 Impact Factor, and almost a 300% increase on the 2009 Impact Factor.

The journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Accounting Professor Baljit Sidhu, said:  “This is terrific news and testimony to the hard work of everyone on the AJM team! This means that our journal is attracting increasing attention for credible research worthy of citation.”.

The Australian Journal of Management (AJM) was founded in 1976 at the AGSM @ UNSW Business School. In its first year, two issues were published, totalling 199 pages. The journal has grown significantly since then.  In 2014, AJM published four issues, totalling 665 pages. It is now published by SAGE Publications (London, UK). The AJM editorial team comes from well-recognised institutions in Australia and overseas.

*The 2014 Impact Factor measures the citations in 2014 to articles published in the journal in 2012 and 2013, providing an average number of 2014 citations for those articles.
