On Wednesday 9 September, we ran a mini Girls do the Maths workshop for a group of 40 high school girls, as part of the L'Oreal Girls in Science forum.
Associate Professor Catherine Greenhill and Dr Adelle Coster ran the session, which aimed to give an insight into university life and the diverse careers available to maths and stats graduates.
Students were also asked to participate in a hands-on activity during the session.
Other schools across UNSW Science offered activities and tours of their facilities for the L'Oreal event.
Feedback received from the high school girls and their teachers about the UNSW offerings was very favourable.
