On Wednesday 7 October, students considering doing an Honours degree with the UNSW School of Mathematics and Statistics had a chance to hear from the Honours co-ordinators Feng Chen (Statistics), Catherine Greenhill (Pure) and Shane Keating (Applied).

Topics discussed included admission requirements and the application process, Honours year courses, and scholarships available to applying students. There was also plenty of advice on how to find an Honours project topic and supervisor.

Students also heard from potential supervisors, who described their research interests and pitched project ideas to students. A wide range of projects are available, from biomathematics to nonparametric statistics to hyperbolic geometry. A complete list of available research projects can be found on the UNSW Mathematics and Statistics Honours webpage.
