The School of Mathematics and Statistics at UNSW is the largest in Australia and a major centre of research in the mathematical sciences. The School has notable strengths in fundamental research right through to cutting edge applications.
The Department of Statistics within the School is one of the most dynamic in Australia. It provides expertise in a wide range of activities, including research, teaching, consulting and the organisation of technical workshops. The Department encompasses a broad range of research interests. It has particular strength and capacity in Bayesian and Monte Carlo Methods; Biostatistics and Ecology; Finance and Risk Analysis; Nonparametric Statistics and Stochastic Analysis, which is supported by emerging research strengths in related areas.
About the role
· A$95K-$112K plus (9.5% superannuation and leave loading)
· Fixed Term (12 months)
· Full-Time
· Two positions available
The Department of Statistics is seeking to appoint two Lecturers. Applications in any research area of Statistics, Probability or Stochastic Processes are welcome, which will ideally support or enhance existing Department’s research strengths and capacity.
About you
To be successful in this position, you will have:
· A PhD in Statistics, Probability and Stochastic Processes, or related areas;
· Demonstrated research ability and be able to teach a wide range of courses offered in the School
· Ability to supervise research projects in the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs
· A strong publication record
· A commitment to teaching and course development of the highest standard
