Some of the world's leading  experts on human resources gathered at UNSW over the weekend to talk about the business of people management.

Conference organiser, Head of the School of Management at UNSW Business School, Professor Karin Sanders said the International Conference of the HR Division of the Academy of Management (HRIC) was an important forum for exchanging ideas and new developments in HR, including emerging challenges in the Asia‐Pacific.

The Australian-hosted HRIC covered topics such as the effectiveness of HR systems and practices in different institutional and cultural contexts, new HRM concepts, research methods, and measures in different countries and understanding how HR fits within an organisation.

The HRIC conference featured Professor David Guest (Kings' College, London, UK), Professor Fang Lee Cooke (Monash University) and Professor Cheri Ostroff (Centre for Workplace Excellence, University of South Australia), among many leading academics.

The conference was co-hosted by the UNSW Business School, the HR Division of the Academy of Management (AOM), Centre for Workplace Excellence at the University of South Australia, and Monash University.
