One of the world's most prestigious art fairs Art Basel Hong Kong launched its 2016 edition last week from 24-26 March 2016.

UNSW Art & Design alumna Alexie Glass-Kantor was front and centre at this global event as curator of the successful Encounters section.

This year, Art Basel Hong Kong attracted a record 70,000 visitors that explored art from 239 galleries from around the world.

The Encounters section at the fair aims to present large-scale sculpture and installation works by leading international artists, and provide visitors with the opportunity to see works that transcend the traditional art fair stands.

Alexie Glass-Kantor curated a display of 16 large-scale installations from artists Brook Andrew, Charles Avery, Hans Berg and Nathalie Djurberg, Roberto Chabet, Chen Zhen, Isa Genzken, Kyungah Ham, Arik Levy, Peter Liversidge, Richard Maloy, Tintin Wulia, Tromarama, Keiji Uematsu, Lawrence Weiner, Pae White and Zhang Ding. She described the selection of artworks as 'immersive, wonderful and unpredictable.'
