Staff Promotions: Zdravko Botev, Thomas Britz & Gery Geenens

The School of Mathematics and Statistics is delighted to announce the following staff promotions, effective 1 July 2016:
Promotion to Senior Lecturer
Dr Zdravko Botev
Dr Botev joined UNSW Mathematics and Statistics in 2011, and over the past five years has supervised numerous Honours, Masters, and Vacation Scholar students. He earned a 2016 Early Career Research Grant for his project, "Perfect simulation in the Bayesian LASSO model".
Dr Thomas Britz
Dr Britz's promotion comes hot on the heels of his Vice-Chancellor's Award for Contributions to Student Learning. Dr Britz is the current Chair of the School's Publicity Committee, and has held the position of Editor of Parabola since late 2015.
Dr Gery Geenens
Dr Geenens, who joined UNSW in 2009, is the School's Director of Postgraduate Studies (Coursework), and is active in promoting our Postgraduate Coursework degrees to prospective students. Most of Dr Geenens' research lies in developing nonparametric and semiparametric methods in various contexts.
