Creative degrees with integrated professional experience opportunities lead to creative careers.

At UNSW Art & Design we work with you to support and develop your creative potential, assist you to gain professional experience, and then launch you on your pathway to career success.

We understand how to develop your artistic and creative potential through studio practice, conceptual knowledge, professional experience and industry engagement.

We offer intensive studio-based degree programs that combine hands-on making with technical skills, conceptual and theoretical knowledge all taught and led by leading artists and design practitioners, dedicated educators and pioneering researchers. In addition, we have structured all of our studio-based degree programs across Design, Fine Arts, and Media Arts to incorporate a sustained Professional Experience Project (PEP), a core course specially designed to provide you with experience in professional workplace environment to build your industry knowledge, skillset and network.

PEP is effectively a professional internship with one of our hundreds of creative industry partners.  Alternatively, students can choose to conduct a professional project-based activity that they design under the guidance of academic and professional mentors. Both PEP approaches have the goal of ensuring that our students are ready for the workplace at graduation.

With more than 20 years of experience building our Sydney, national and international industry networks we can assist you on your journey to career success.

Our PEP partners include hundreds of organisations spanning small design-led and creative businesses, cultural institutions, innovative start-ups to global brands. Consider just a few options:
