Last Thursday, 15 female high school students visited the School as part of the L'Oreal Girls in Science Forum.

We ran a Mini Girls Do the Maths workshop for the students, who came from Rose Bay Secondary College, Matraville Sports High School, and Alexandria Park Community School.

The workshop comprised a presentation about maths and stats careers by A/Prof Catherine Greenhil, followed by a presentation and fun demonstration byL'Oreal Girls in Science Dr Ana Zumalacarregui about how to tackle optimisation and surface area problems - with bubbles!

The results were quite striking and surprising, and students were given the opportunity to engage with the activity, which they did enthusiastically.

A big thank you to Dr Zumalacarregui and A/Prof Greenhill for presenting this workshop!
