At the Business School’s graduation ceremony week, the CEO of Australia’s largest privately held women’s fashion retailer was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Business in recognition for her service to the community. With more than 500 stores and 4000 employees, Naomi Milgrom is a business leader, fashion retailer and a longstanding philanthropist, involved in the arts, science and community organisations.

The UNSW alumnus completed her Diploma of Education at UNSW Australia and initially taught children with autism before she moved into publishing, then advertising and eventually into the world of fashion and business. She has built a reputation for mentoring women into leadership roles and has pioneered a unique working culture including championing flexible work practices.

Along with Naomi Milgrim, Robert Barry has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business for his service to the community. Robert currently serves as Chairman of Pengana Holdings and is Strategic Advisor to the Executive at fixed income specialist, FIIG.

The UNSW alumnus spent almost 30 years in the investment banking industry and has had extensive experience in the financial service sphere. He made his first pledge to UNSW Australia in 1998 and still remains a committed and generous contributor to the University.

Currently, Robert is the chair of the University’s Investment Committee and esteemed member of the UNSW Medicine Advisory Board and Dean’s Circle.

Along with Robert and Naomi, over 1200 students will also be participating in the Business School’s graduation ceremony week.
