The Deputy Head of the School of Accounting and Associate Professor, Jane Baxter has been appointed the new Editor in Chief of the Australian Journal of Management (AJM). Jane is a long serving member of the School of Accounting at UNSW Australia Business School and teaches both postgraduate and undergraduate students in the field of management accounting.

Along with being an active supervisor of honours, MPhil and PhD research students, she is also a member of the Editorial Board of ABACUS (A Journal of Accounting, Finance and Business Studies), the Australian Accounting Review and is a Fellow of CPA Australia.

The Australian Journal of Management (AJM) is ranked as a tier A, international peer-reviewed journal that publishes research in accounting, applied economics, finance, industrial relations, political science, psychology, statistics, and other disciplines, provided the application is to management. It was founded at the AGSM at UNSW Business School in 1976.

Jane Baxter, who will resume the role from Professor Baljit Sidhu (School of Accounting) said, “It is a great professional privilege to be entrusted with the oversight of AJM; to follow in the path of a number of accomplished scholars and previous editors. Personally, it is a very exciting challenge to steer the journal and to work with a committed, diverse and highly talented team of deputy and associate editors, editorial board members and those associated with the management of the journal, both here at the UNSW Business School and at Sage Publications in London.”

“My aim as Editor-in-Chief will be to maintain and enhance the reputation of AJM as a general management journal publishing high quality research; positioning AJM as a place for thought leadership in the Asia-Pacific region, in particular. I would also like to raise awareness of the journal amongst young, emerging scholars seeking to build their careers by publishing new, exciting research in AJM. Further, I would like to see AJM as a journal that respects a variety of research methods and traditions germane to management.”
