UNSW Business School is to open its doors and host a new Investment Banking and Consulting Week (IBCW).

Some of the biggest names in investment banking and consulting, including: Deloitte, Citi, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, PwC and Bank of America Merrill Lynch amongst others, will provide information over twelve sessions during the week. The event will run from Monday 27 February to Friday 3 March.

Christine Brooks, Careers and Employment Project Officer said, “The Investment Banking and Consulting Evening provides an opportunity for our final and penultimate year students to gain a real understanding of what it is like to work in these industries and to appreciate the culture of the organisations and opportunities available in each of the graduate programs. Students get an idea of which firms they would be best suited to and focus on seeking further information and applying to these specific organisations. Student numbers are restricted enabling students and employers are able to have meaningful one-on-one conversations.”

The week long event is designed to give students the chance to network with some of the biggest players in the investment banking and consulting world, providing a rare opportunity to pose questions directly to employers. Students will be given the prospect to compare different companies and to get a real understanding of whether investment banking or consulting is the right career path for them.

Recruiter, Mary Katergaris from Boston Consulting Group says it’s a great way to speak to future talent “BCG is looking forward to meeting potential candidates that are keen to pursue a career in Consulting at the Investment Banking and Consulting Week. It will be a great opportunity for students to meet with Consultants from BCG and get first-hand knowledge of what it is like to work as a Management Consultant and specifically at BCG.”

The showcase event of the week will be the Investment Banking and Consulting Evening, where pre-selected high achieving penultimate and final year students will be invited to speak to over 26 employers, who will be on the lookout for new graduates.
