Chris Tisdell awarded professional qualification: "Chartered Mathematics Teacher"

The UK's chartered professional body for mathematicians has awarded Associate Professor Chris Tisdell the professional qualification of "Chartered Mathematics Teacher".

The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) states that its mission is to support the advancement of mathematical knowledge and its applications, and to promote and enhance mathematical culture for the public good.

The Chartered Mathematics Teacher (CMathTeach) designation reflects the balance between teaching skills and mathematics knowledge that is necessary for a professional teacher to educate and inspire today’s students. The CMathTeach classification can identify an individual as being at the forefront of their profession, and encapsulates standards of professional excellence across mathematics teaching in the 21st century.

IMA is one of the UK's learned societies for mathematics. The CMathTeach designation is incorporated within the Royal Charter of IMA. 

We believe that Chris is one of the very few Australians to be recognised in this way by IMA. A very big congratulations to Chris!
