UNSW Galleries launches new exhibitions in May

Two new exhibitions are set to open at UNSW Galleries next week before they tour to partner institutions nationally and internationally. Curated by Brenda L Croft Still in my mind: Gurindji location, experience and visuality and A working model of the world curated by Dr Lizzie Muller and Holly Williams each draw on extensive and pioneering research projects.
Led by artist and curator Brenda L Croft in collaboration with Karungkarni Art and Culture Aboriginal Corporation, Still in my mind: Gurindji location, experience and visuality reveals multilayered concepts of home, family/community and country, from distinct and interwoven Gurindji standpoints.
A working model of the world, explores how we use models to create and share knowledge. The exhibition presents intriguing objects from all disciplines alongside contemporary artworks by Brook Andrew, Corinne May Botz, Ian Burns, caraballo-farman, Maria Fernanda Cardoso, Kate Dunn, David Eastwood, Emily Floyd, Andrea Fraser, Jeff Preiss, Glen Hayward, Peter Hennessey, Jo Law, Tony Mott, Palle Nielsen, Kenzee Patterson, Sascha Pohflepp & Chris Woebken and Esme Timbery. The exhibition was developed and presented in partnership with the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center, Parsons School of Design, The New School, New York and The Curators’ Department, Sydney.
The exhibitions will be officially opened by the Hon Linda Burney MP.
