Sydney Contemporary is Coming

Presented at Carriageworks, Sydney Contemporary, is Australia’s leading international art fair, welcoming more than 60,000 national and international visitors to what has become a major annual event for collectors, creative practitioners, investors and art-lovers alike.

The line-up for 2017 includes almost 100 well-known galleries, showcasing some of Australia’s best known contemporrary artists such as Janet Laurence (UNSW Art & Design), Imants Tillers (UNSW Art & Design), Adam Cullen, Tony Albert (UNSW Art & Design), Elisabeth Cummings (UNSW Art & Design), Euan Macleod, Rosemary Laing (UNSW Art & Design), and Jason Phu (UNSW Art & Design).

In addition to extensive exhibitions the Sydney Contemporary program includes four intensive days of panel discussions, a curated selection of videos, and live performances staged in and around Carriageworks.    

Don’t miss screenings of the award-winning, Girls, directed by Kate Blackmore and commissioned by the Campbelltown Arts Centre; the celebrated dual-channel work, Heat, created by Sydney-based collective, Hissy Fit, made up of Jade Muratore (UNSW Art & Design), Emily O’Connor (UNSW Art & Design), and Nat Randall; and the short film, LIFTERS//LEANERS, documenting the intense and challenging practice of documenting and capturing performance art by James Nguyen (UNSW Art & Design).

Sydney Contemporary takes place from 7-10 September at Carriageworks.
