On 24-26 July 2017,  Carla TreloarIlan KatzBingqin Li and Yuvisthi Naidoo from the Social Policy Research Centre at UNSW Sydney, Yanfeng Ge from the State Council Development Research Centre and Kinglun Nogk from Sun Yat Sen University delivered a series of lectures and seminars in the first Renmin University-UNSW Social Policy Summer School.

More than 100 people attended, including junior academic staff members and PhD students from all over the country. The three day course is a good show case of SPRC's social policy expertise and put SPRC right on the centre of the map of the fast growing social policy arena.

The SPRC group also discussed future opportunities for collaboration with Renmin University in terms of research, teaching and PhD supervision.

During the trip, the group also held formal and informal meetings with staff members from UNICEF-Beijing, Tsinghua University, Beijing University, George Institute Beijing Office, Development Research Centre of the State Council, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

After the summer school, Ilan Katz was invited to CASS to deliver a talk on Evaluation of Complex Policies. Bingqin gave a paper at the Social Policy Workshop organized by CASS and held meetings with China Entrepreneurial Foundation and people from Nankai University to plan for the ACC events.
