Today the Centre for Social Research in Health (CSRH) mourns the loss of a long term collaborator and advocate for the rights of people living with HIV, viral hepatitis and STIs in Australia and the region.

Levinia Crooks AM was the Executive Officer of the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM) and an adjunct Associate Professor with CSRH.

Levinia dedicated her life to improving the lives of people affected by these infections by strengthening the skills and contributions of the health and medical workforce in these sectors. She was a passionate and tireless champion and we will miss her enormously.

We send our best wishes to Levinia’s family, friends and colleagues at this sad time.

Carla Treloar,
Director, Centre for Social Research in Health

ASHM is collating  memories, significant events, anecdotes, photos and tributes to commemorate, celebrate and appreciate Levinia’s life, work and achievements for both an online book of remembrance and appreciation – if you would like to contribute please send these to appreciation@ashm.org.au.
