Two Research Officers from the BSU, Jennifer White and Mary-Ellen Brierley, were fortunate enough to attend the Kids with Cancer Foundation (KWCF) Luncheon on September 29th to launch the Scare Cancer Halloween campaign.
The Sydney Children’s Hospital has been the grateful recipient of over $8 million funding in the past 20 years, including $1.5 million towards the expansion of our Kids Cancer Centre research facility. Particularly, the Foundation has supported the work of the BSU’s translational research across the Recapture Life, Cascade and the Grandparents studies.
The Scare Cancer campaign will run throughout October, and aims to continue to assist the KWCF in raising funds to support the families of children with cancer who are struggling financially, and to support the work of medical staff and social workers in caring for these children and their families.
