Last Friday 8 June we hosted the fifth annual Postgraduate Conference at UNSW. The full day event, held in Colombo Theatres, exhibited the rich and dynamic research that our students are currently working on.
The schedule featured 18 talks, six lengthier plenary talks, and a lunchtime research poster viewing which preceded three 60-second "lightning" talks by the poster's creators. Talks and posters were assessed by a panel of judges.
The event attracted around 80 audience members throughout the day, several of whom were supervisors of many of the presenting students. A prize-giving ceremony closed the conference, with Prof David Warton presenting awards to the winners, in the catergories: Outstanding Talk and Outstanding Poster. A Contribution Award was also presented, to reward contributions to the Postgraduate community. Please see the list of winners below.
Conference attendees then made their way to the White House for a well deserved party!
