The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) has introduced a new scholarship that will enable outstanding community and business leaders in the LGBTI community to study our world class Full-Time MBA. The AGSM LGBTI Leadership Excellence Scholarship will be awarded to eligible applicants accepted into the 2019 Full-Time MBA program.

The scholarship, believed to be the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific region, welcomes all eligible LGBTI community members to self-nominate on their applications to be considered for this scholarship.

"AGSM is committed to building a leadership pipeline that embraces the diversity and cultural richness of our community, helping more people to achieve their leadership potential and bringing together the best students to do their best work with us" explains Dr Michele Roberts, Academic Director at AGSM @ UNSW Business School. "Our new LGBTI scholarship will help to develop exceptional LGBTI role models who will hopefully inspire and propel a new generation of leaders.

Jarther Taylor, AGSM MBA Executive (2016) Alumni and CEO of Datarati was named one of Deloitte and Google's Outstanding 50 LGBTI Leaders of 2018. He mentors several business leaders within the LGBTI community. "I'm a strong advocate for programs that nurture valuable diversity and inclusion, particularly within business leadership and career development."

"Through the launch of this new scholarship AGSM is giving greater opportunities for the LGBTI community to grow and become more prominent within the business world. Being able to bring my identity as a gay man into my work really helped me feel our community was gaining acceptance and support."

Romeo Jay Pragacha, AGSM MBA 2019 and Co-President of Pride@AGSM, said "our mission is for all AGSM students, staff, and alumni to be accepted and feel a sense of belonging, regardless of their sexual identity or orientation. We are passionate in educating current and future business leaders within the LGBTI community."

Pride@AGSM is a student run organisation and is available to all AGSM MBA students to join. As the first LGBTI MBA Network in Asia Pacific, Pride@AGSM is building important links with major industry organisations in Sydney and beyond in its inaugural year.

"We connect and provide mentorship with senior LGBTI business leaders across various industries. We are committed to support AGSM student members in pursuing their professional and social aspirations" said Romeo Jay Pragacha, on behalf of Pride@AGSM.

Full and partial tuition fee waivers are available, and candidates who self-nominate for this scholarship are automatically considered after receiving an offer of admission to AGSM Full-Time MBA program.
