"As the UNSW LGBTIQ+ Champion, I applaud Cricket Australia for its inclusive policy on trans and gender diverse players across all levels of the sport, from local to elite," she said.
"This policy aligns with the “Guidelines for Inclusions of transgender and Gender Diverse People in Sport”, issued by the Australian Human Rights Commission, Sports Australia and the Coalition of Major Professional and Participation Sports earlier this year.
"It reflects the values of inclusion and equity, and recognises the importance facilitating the participation of people across the diversity of genders in a safe and respectful sporting culture."
Issues around diversity and inclusion in sport will be on the agenda when the headline act of diversity fest, the Game Changers panel discussion featuring Sharni Layton, Dylan Alcott, Ellia Green and Casey Conway tackles the ways we can open up sport and make it a safe and welcoming place for people from all walks of life.
