The annual Mathematical Association of New South Wales (MANSW) Conference was held last week, 20-22 September in Terrigal.

Several School members attended and participated in the conference program.

On day one, Jonathan Kress and our 2014 Visiting Teaching Fellow Thanom Shaw (SCEGGS) delivered a presentation, "Tailoring randomised tasks to create opportunities for students to work mathematically".

On day two, Laure Helme-Guizon and our current Visiting Teaching Fellow Benjamin Bui presented on "Making the most of the new Stage 6 syllabus".

Several of our former Visiting Teaching Fellows were also in attendance and had the opportunity to catch up with our staff.

The event hosted an expo, where we had a stall with School merchandise and ran a competition, Summing up Hirschhorn’s 50 years at UNSW.

The competition generated significant interest and five people successfully solved it and claimed a prize.
