Our Architecture students have had a busy year. In addition to working on numerous design projects addressing pressing social and sustainability issues, they have been exposed to some of the most progressive and innovative architects in the world.
Big international names – including Marius Vogl, Director at Coop Himmelb(l)au, Melbourne, and Dang Qun, Director of MAD Architects in Beijing – met with students to share their projects, inspirations and advice.
A highlight for the students was receiving feedback on their final thesis projects from Dang Qun, whose design studio is now one of the best-known young Chinese architectural studios world-wide.
Many hot topics were covered in these lectures, including conversations around the future of the discipline and the role of sculpture in architectural design. All the guest speaker lectures sparked robust Q&As and exchange of ideas.
The UNSW Built Environment Architecture program has plans to bring more talent from across the globe for exclusive student talks in 2020. Keep an eye on our website for more details.
