UNSW receives breastfeeding accreditation

UNSW has achieved re-accreditation as a Best Practice Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace by the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) for 2019. UNSW has achieved accreditation each year since 2013, but in 2019 our accreditation was elevated to ‘Best Practice’ – a higher level of recognition.

This prestigious achievement is a testament to UNSW’s unwavering support for women who are balancing breastfeeding and work. The University has implemented flexible work practices for employees who breastfeed; with lactation breaks options for women who would like to breastfeed during work hours. The University has also established designated parents’ rooms to give mothers the opportunity to breastfeed in a private and secure environment. There are three parents’ rooms located on Kensington campus and two at the Canberra campus.
