Applications are now open for the Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship. The scholarship supports individuals who are undertaking postgraduate study that will ultimately make a difference to Australia in one of three areas; technology and innovation, fostering Australian-Asian ties, and enabling positive social change. Scholarships are valued at up to $120,000 over 2-3 years and are awarded annually for research or coursework studies at graduate level.
The Scholarship supports postgraduate students to study at one of Australia’s leading universities and participate in a bespoke, nine-month, Leadership Development Program.
UNSW Alumna and Westpac Future Leader scholar, Imogen D’Souza was recently awarded the Westpac Future Scholarship helping her pursue postgraduate study. Imogen recently graduated with a Bachelor of Social Research and Policy (Honours) degree at UNSW and is grateful for practical research and policy analysis skills that the degree offered which have been essential for professional roles.
“Being awarded the scholarship has allowed me to pursue postgrad education with financial support, giving me more space to meaningfully engage with my studies. I am very grateful to also have the opportunity to travel overseas for short courses or conferences and participate in a bespoke Leadership Development programme with the other Future Leaders scholars.” Explains Imogen.
“Becoming a Westpac scholar means joining the W100 Network. Network holds the noble aim of meaningfully shaping Australian future and its leaders. It promises to build healthy interlinkages between professionals, innovators, and academics that are necessary to combat an increasing fragmentation between discourse and policy, action or social change.”
