Strong performance by CSE in the ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.

UNSW Computer Science and Engineering has continued to perform strongly in the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) released today.

In the ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, CSE jumped to the top 51-75 range globally for the 2020 result. In 2019 the School ranked in the 76-100 range and in 2018, was placed in the 101-150 rank.

ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects has published the ARWU by academic subjects since 2009. The rankings assess universities across 54 subjects in natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences.

The 2020 methodology is based on the number of papers published in Q1 journals by Journal Impact Factor (JIF) during the period of 2014 to 2018, citation impact, papers in top journals/conferences, international collaboration, and academic recognitions and awards.
