Workplace giving

The UNSW Staff Giving program provides staff the opportunity to support the causes that they care about, on campus through pre-tax payroll deductions. The generosity of the staff donor community has made a real impact on a range of initiatives at UNSW, such as creating equality of opportunities for deserving students experiencing disadvantage, enabling life-changing learning experiences and supporting ground-breaking research that positively impact our community and the wider world. 

In recent months the UNSW staff donor community has come together to support UNSW’s fundraising effort in response to COVID-19, particularly the Student Emergency Relief Fund. Alongside the wider UNSW community, UNSW staff donors have helped make a significant difference for over 8,100 UNSW students experiencing financial hardship as a result of COVID-19.  

“My friends and boss encouraged me to apply for a grant under the Student Emergency Support Relief Fund, which resulted in me receiving $2,000. I was so relieved. It helped me pay rent, buy food and allowed me to commit to hobbies to keep me busy during isolation. I also have some money left over to get a flight home to support my family if needed” – Kyra, Bachelor of Law & Science and recipient of an emergency grant  

UNSW staff donors share a proud legacy of making a difference to the community, and especially our community on campus. The UNSW Staff Giving program was created to enable staff to give to the causes that they care about in an easy and convenient way – through automated, pre-tax payroll contributions, 100% of which goes directly to the nominated fund.

As a staff member, you can arrange to donate a specific amount to the cause of your choice every time you get paid. Even a small gift, made weekly or monthly, can add up to a sizeable contribution over time. There are no hidden costs, so every cent of your payroll gift will go directly towards the fund of your choice.
