In the 2020 funding round, it was essential criteria that projects relate to at least one Neuroscience, Mental Health and Addiction sub-theme and be able to proceed within any COVID-19 research restrictions. The Neuroscience, Mental Health and Addiction sub-themes are:
- Children and Adolescent Wellbeing
- Complex and Difficult to Treat Diseases
- Healthy Ageing
- Brain Sciences and Translational Neuroscience
