“A national strategy on climate, health and wellbeing for Australia is urgently needed to protect the public from the dangers of climate change, to identify and address critical knowledge gaps, and to help us reimagine and adapt our health system for provision of high-quality care with net-zero emissions," says Associate Professor Xiaoqi Feng, urban health and environment expert from the UNSW School of Population Health.

Over 55 health and medical organisations call for the threat to health from climate change to be addressed by the Australian Government by:

  • Including health in our official Paris Agreement contribution
  • Decarbonising health by 2040
  • Enacting a National Strategy on Climate, Health and Wellbeing
