The government has pledged over $800m to fight natural disasters. It could be revolutionary — if done right

It’s not yet clear how the government plans to bring together Australia’s best experts — including policy thinkers, emergency managers, researchers and practitioners — to address the complex, evolving threats from natural disasters. Currently, it seems the role of universities has not been adequately defined.
