The UNSW School of Optometry and Vision Science Lens Wear with Care 2021 campaign is taking place August 17-21, 2021!

This year’s campaign is focused on contact lenses and the risk with water exposure. Many contact lens wearers are not aware that water and contact lenses are a bad combination, and that includes not properly drying your hands, swimming, showering or using spa pools.  Water—whether it be tap water, pool water, lake water, or shower water—contain microorganisms and in particular, Acanthamoeba that could increase the risk of very significant and sight-threatening eye infection.

We are so glad to have you involved. Help us build awareness around the dangers of contact lenses and water exposure by getting behind this campaign.
