Thomas Britz wins UNSW Award for Student Wellbeing

We are proud to announce that Dr Thomas Britz has won a 2021 UNSW Learning and Teaching Award for Student Wellbeing.

This inaugural award was conferred by the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education and Student Experience office on Friday at an awards ceremony at the UNSW Education Festival. The award was presented to Dr Britz by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Merlin Crossley. 

"Thomas is well known in the School for his caring and inclusive support of both students and colleagues and it is terrific to have this acknowledgement by UNSW", said Head of School Professor Adelle Coster.

This isn't the first time that Dr Britz has been formally recognised for exceptional student contributions. In 2015, he won a Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning.

He also came sixth across the entire university for the 2019 KPMG Inspiring Teacher Award in a First Year Undergraduate Program, which is an award voted on by UNSW students to determine the most inspiring teacher across all of first year teaching at the university.

Dr Britz, who was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2016, has been the Editor of the School's learning and teaching journal Parabola since late 2015 and has steadily grown its readership and reach over this period.
