After a brief hiatus, The Neumann Talk podcast is back with two new episodes!

1990 B.H. Neumann Prize winner Xuan Thinh Duong is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Macquarie University.

He talks about where problems in Pure Mathematics come from, what Harmonic Analysis is, and how PhD students choose their research topics.

2020 B.H. Neumann Prize winner Vinesha Peiris is a PhD student at the Swinburne University of Technology. In her final stretch as the 2020 Neumann winner, she talks about what it was like giving her Neumann talk online, how the Sri Lankan education system coaxed her toward mathematics and how her research interacts with other areas of maths.

The Neumann Talk is a podcast produced by a team of our students and staff. It features interviews with past winners of The Australian Mathematical Society B.H. Neumann Prize.
