The UNSW School of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CVEN) is delighted to welcome new industry partner –Ward Civil and Environmental Engineering Pty Ltd (Ward) to our Industry Partner Program.
Ward is a multi-disciplined and full-service civil & environmental engineering contractor. With a history of nearly 50 years, they are proud of their culture, commitment to safety and a reputation for excellence in project delivery.
With offices in Sydney and Newcastle and a workforce in excess of 160 from 20 different counties, 6.5% of whom are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, 37% female and with a 100% COVID-19 vaccination rate, Ward pride themselves on the technical capabilities of their experienced construction staff.
Ward’s current focus is on civil infrastructure including roads, airports, ports, bulk earthworks, structures, ground engineering, contaminated land remediation, and general civil works.
Recent significant projects undertaken by Ward include Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 Enabling Works, the upgrade of Bays 83 and 85 over the Northern Ponds at Sydney Airport and the excavation and remediation of contamination for the Crown Resort basement at Barangaroo. Current projects include its delivery partnership with Gamuda on the Sydney Metro Metrowest Western Tunnel Package project where Ward will deliver the pre-cast yard at Eastern Creek and the Stabling Facility at Clyde for this exciting new infrastructure project.
With a clear growth plan and well defined company strategy, Ward are looking forward to their ongoing evolution.

The UNSW School of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CVEN) is internationally ranked as the premier School of its kind in Australia, (AWRU/ QS/ THE) and in the world’s top fifteen (AWRU/QS).
The support of industry partners helps the School grow the profile of the profession through outreach programs that connect with students in NSW primary and high schools. This includes our very successful Primary School Maths Prize which promotes the importance of maths for an exciting engineering career, and Year 10 Engineering Work Experience Week which offers young people from around the state the chance to experience a wide range of civil, environmental and geospatial engineering projects, sites and activities.
Program funds are also used to run events that link our undergraduates with Industry Partners, such as careers markets, elite student industry breakfasts, career information events, and other student focused events.
