New analysis from the SDR Hub and Allens Hub for Technolog, Law and Innovation explores regulatory challenges and opportunities in Australia associated with four 'green' energy technologies (electric vehicles, renewable energy storage systems, hydrogen production, waste to energy) and investigates their potential to deliver carbon abatement and other environmental benefits.

Three principles are proposed as a foundation for the regulation of such technologies: (1) energy justice; (2) just access to space and mobility; and (3) respect for the totality of ecological limits.
